Green Spot Algae

Does green spot algae grow on driftwood? If so anything I can do to get rid of it without scrubing it?

id have to say yes ! but with darker driftwood i dont think you could really notice em and if there is greenspot on ur driftwood then you should have it around ur tank ? leaves ? glass etc...

why do you worry about green spot on your driftwood btw ?

It just looks pretty crappy seeing as it is the centrepeice.

Also ive been having a problem with brown algae. This tanks been set up for nearly 2 years and a little while ago i completely overhauled it (keeping the filter and heater). This has been set up for about 2 months now. When could I expect it to go away?

brown algae is normal, in my tank it usually appears in the first week - 2nd week of setup then after a wipe it doesn't come back... given the tank is balanced and everything
