I have a lot of green slimy algae in my tank. It is a brackish tank with an SG of about 1.006. The lighting is about 1 watt per gallon. And I fert on and off. I have a fake plants (which were totally covered), a java fern, val, and sag grass. I don't mind a little of the stuff but it is growing on my plants and I'm afraid it may be the reason for some of the leaf loss I've had lately. Any suggestions?

Picture of the tank. How densly planted is the tank? Waterchange regimen, and what is the filtration? That'll get me off to a good start.

Well I just cleaned what I could so you don't see too much now but I don't want it to come back on so strong as some is left on my wood and live plants. The tank is not densly planted as you can see. Water changes, irregular but about 25% every two weeks. I have two filters. One is 100 GPH the other is about 300 (not completly sure it was a hand-me-down). It is a 55gal and about 6 months old. The water is still a little brown from the wood.

Thanks for your help.
