Hi everyone,

I have two questions regarding an artificial fern plant that I got today.

The strands of the fern are held together with a small bit of lead which also acts to weigh down the plant in the tank, this will obviously cause alot of problems in the tank wont it?

This fern plant, being artificial, is really really life-like. When its in the water it just flops all over the place much the same way the real plant does in rivers. Does anyone have a link to web pages that sell such artificial plants that are this realistic?

Thanks very much!!

Lead has been used to weight down plants in aquariums for years, I don't believe it is likely to be a problem.

This is the plant....does anyone know the identity of it (even if it is fake!!)

Thanks for the reply nry!!

Doesn't look like any aquarium plant Ive ever seen.

O I should mention, its an artificial plant....just wanted to know if anyone here knows about plants in general. Even if someone could tell me where to buy such lifelike plants on the internet that would be great.

So you're after an artificial plant that matches the one in the picture? Have you tried eBay?

Sam

Well the artificial plant in the picture is mine, there is some in a pet store about 10 miles away from me but I just wanted to find out how to source it on E-bay if I dont know its name!

Most times when you search for artificial plant you get the plastic type. This plant is neither plastic or silk...so its kinda difficult. I'm just looking to see if anyone on this forum has ever bought realistic plants off the internet before!!
