Please help

hi dodge

i would add live copods also so he dose get some food and dosnt starve to death

or where ever your cleaner shrimps are you could feed them att the opposite side of the tank

regards scott

will give the cleaner shrimp idea first and if it doesn't work I will add live copedepods thanks again Scott

Check out tina's thread for the mandy dinner :good:

Most people who have success with Mandys set up a feeding station, either in a small jar or feeding the rest of the tank and then feeding in the same spot every night for the Mandy, they quickly realise where the food will be :good:

I can't remember how big your tank is, sorry - but if it has less than 90lbs of live rock then you need to be supplementing the pods in the tank with a pod culture

How much is 30kg of live rock in pounds

66 lb, so you will need to supplement with pods.

In the Marine Chit Chat section, I have put some info about my pair in there and I include a link to the mandarin diner.

Look for thread of title "Mandarin Love".

I think I might forget feeding him frozen because my other fish take the food to fast and the jar way doesn't work because the other fish get in there and eat it all and the mandarin doesn't have a preferred place (meaning a place he comes to the most so I think I will order some copedepods from my lfs every month to maintain the food and later in life I might introduce another green mandarin for her it's a girl or I might introduce a spotted mandarin I love them

I have found that mine go and hide in a particular cave when I feed the rest of the fish.

I feed the clowns, Bangaii, Flasher Wrasse and Royal Gramma first, (my blennie and goby just chill out at the back anyway) then squirt some food at my pair of blood shrimp (away from the Mandarin cave), and then use an extra long pipette to squirt some food into the cave. The Mandarins are now waiting for it every night. They seem to know now that everything else gets fed, then I feed them, they also know that I will keep my eye on the blood shrimp pair and will squirt more food at them if they go to go anywhere near the Mandarin cave.

It has worked out very well.

I would encourage you to keep trying, not only is it good for the Mandarins to take the extra food, it does give one a certain sense of achievement that you have managed to get a fish renowned for not eating, to eat frozen. I am working on pellet food next.

When I see HER I will target feed her in the hole she goes in so if she goes in a certain hole i will target feed in that hole hoping she got some but I see her a bit more during bluelight hours but I think she gets some because she is nice and round and seems to have gained weight since I have had her

What does this mean my mandarin when the blue light are on in the morning he or she keeps on showing him or her self off why and for some reason my mandarin has two sticky up things on stuck to the side of the main sticky up thing so I can't sex it
