can i have some when i upgrade? cos i do like them in big groups. but how many should i get?

yeah, 4x2x2 is a great sized tank for some. You have to feed them a lot, they can bully the weaker ones if short on food.

4 - 6 but to be honest Harry I dislike them there are much nicer fish in my opionion look for bi-colour Chromis these look great in a shoal, Wreck Fish are another option, Or my prefered would be Diamond Head Anthias / Scribbed Anthias or Bartlets Anthias. But that is just my view :)

id have to agree, unless its a huge tank where you can get 20+ and still have ons of fish room...there are nicer more interesting fish

well i do like them alot and they are cheap  so do you add them all at the same time? im gessing you do. i find them interesting dont know why  thaks guys i will google the those fish.

I for one have 6 green chromises in my tank. They have created a ?hierchy? All six of them are of different sizes. There seems to be 1 of them which is the smallest and the rest are gradually larger. At first they may bully each other, but in my experience, they will sort themselves out sooner or later. IMO green chromis's look really nice ONCE they have established the hierachy. They always have their stunning color and nice fin shape. And as they swim, their colors reflect the lighting, which produces a shimmering blue-ish green color from their scales. They like constant small feedings of a variety of foods.

Good luck with your go at the school of fishies :good:

thanks milkton do you have any pictures?

when i had some. a long time ago, i found the blue aqua rays made their colours look awesome! might be worth adding a strip harry, makes them pop a bit

thanks ben. well my lighting is going to be LED anyway :good:

sorry harry, all my images come out blurry with my 10$ camera lol, it just wouldnt do the chromis justice. im a 15 year old kid that just doesnt have the money to buy a good camera. srry about that, however, do experiement with lighting as different lighting brings out different colors on fish (most impt. is water quality though).

good luck! :good:

Cant stress that they need to be well fed enough. We cut down the feeding in our tank to sort our a phosphate problem and they soon turned on each other.

I would have to disagree with those who call them boring. I was watching a group of about 25 in the aqaurium shop and they just looked stunning. In large group of small ones in a large tank would look great.

I must admit, Im not a fan of them in a group less than about 8 only because they seem a bit more jumpy and scard. I know some people would say 3 min, but I would defo build a group up to atleased 8.

Wreck Fish and Anthias look much better and once you have a dominant male they are stunning Chromis just get big and grumpy but just my two pence worth
