Gravid Spot But Not Fat!

I bought this guppy 1 week ago it is a female and it has a gravid spot but it isn't fat like all the other guppies i've seen.
the gravid spot has gotten bigger everyday but, she isnt fat she is skinny like normal guppies.
Why is this??

nope the fry devolope in the grivid spot. thats why it is dark. and when they get into there last week "about the 3rd" they will get reall fat then give birth around day 28 ish.
i just had 4 guppies give birth 2 weeks ago and the day after they gave birth the grivid spot came right back again. " it goes away for a little after they give birth"
and they only have to be with a male once and they can have 3-4 batches of fry from that one spawning.
thats just my 2 cents worth

It's important to note that having a gravid spot does not depend on her having fry in her. She would have a slight gravid spot, even if she wasn't pregnant. The fry inside of her makes the gravid darker but it doesn't make her have a gravid spot. Confusing, yes, but don't worry about her not being fat and having a gravid spot.

In your case, she may have very young, small fry in her.
