Gravel to Sand

As you can see from my sig i have put the backing back on and the water's nearly crystal clear :D
oops-i have the sigs turned off. i was tired of scrolling through 2 feet long signatures to find the actual posts :( do you have a pic of the tank with the background up?

i think it looks awsome no matter what type of substrate it is

well done goood job

I think it looks way better

I find the green gravel really unpleasant...but I could sit and look a the sand tank for hours....

Here's my signature pic in full:

I'm not sure what types of discus to get yet but i am going to try and breed them eventually so there will be a good mix. Possibly 6 juveniles to start with then when they pair my LFS will buy back the ones i choose not to keep.

i could be wrong, as i have never kept discus before, but i think a 30gal is way too small for six. or did you mean you were getting a larger tank for them?

It's alright jacblades...........

Possibly 6 juveniles to start with then when they pair my LFS will buy back the ones i choose not to keep

I plan on keeping at least a pair, maybe two at most but would consider moving the other fish so that it was discus only if i did.

I'm not going to pay £35 per fish only to have them die and as my LFS has offered to pay upto £5 per baby discus if i start breeding them i want to do it right :D

Update:
My tank has recovered from the crash and parameters are back to normal so hopefully it won't be too long before i can post some photos of it with some discus B)

I think it looks great. It looked ok before, but I prefer a natural look. However it is your tank, so ya gotta go with what you prefer. :D

I just can't help it :*)

I've re-modelled my tank again :S I was at the LFS today with my girlfriend getting stuff for my other 30g when i spotted a huge pile of mopani that had just been delivered

Any piece for £5  I couldn't believe it so i rummaged around for a good 20 - 30 minutes and found some really nice pieces. Since getting home i've removed the old bogwood that i got from the lakes, put in the new mopani and i'm just trying to decide on where to put the plants.

I did go a bit overboard and bought home 5 pieces, only 3 will fit in the tank at once (one of them i had to saw to make it fit), but that gives me an excuse to redo my 15g shortly :D

Needless to say my clown plec is loving the new mopani and has spent all day munching on it in full view :)

I'll post updated pics tomorrow when i've finished planting.

i like that sand better, and it looks good with and without the backdrop. very nice tank!

Please. Precisely what kind of sand is this, where do you get it, and how much does it cost?
Many thanks.
