Grass Thing

ok my mums bought me some sort of long grass i cant get a pic yet (its in the post)
but just curious how vigourously this plant grow and does it grow across the floor?
or would you need a pic?

Im going to be the biggest pain in the bum you could imagine im a newbie plant girl
