Gouramis that fight

I have two pearl gouramis (Thing1 and Thing2) that tend to fight from time to time. A few weeks ago they went at it enough to cause a small injury to Thing1, not very big at all, just a small "oops". However it's not getting any better at all. My question is whether it ever will, and if so, how long should it take??

I have two Pearl Gouramis that fight horribly. I made the mistake of getting two males. One bit almost all of the other ones fins off and I thought for sure it would die. But two weeks later the fins are growing back like normal and he seems to be doing fine. Add a little Melafix to the water, it will speed up the process!
