Please, does anybody have any suggestions.
I bought two kissing gouramis a week ago and they have still not eaten. Tried flake, frozen bloodworm, sinking food and live brine shrimp.
They sucked the bloodworm and spat it out. They are happy and swimming around fine but i think they are starting to look a bit thin.
I don't know what to do.

Give them a rest for 2-3 days. I know that might be the last thing you are thinking of at the moment but trust me!

After this time, try SMALL ammounts of various things. I would start with frozen brineshrimp. Have you also tried anything more meaty? Frozen mussel or something?

Don't pile food in, this isnt likely to make them want to eat. However, if you leave the tank without food for a few days they might realise theres nothing coming there way any time soon and therefore take what they get when you start feeding again.

Hope this makes sense.

Ben

How many gallons is the tank, how many fish and which type, what are your water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, any signs of illness like flicking and rubbing, anything just to go on.

The tank is a 240 litre juwel tank.
Tankmates are:1 gold gourami, 1 opaline gourami, 2 swordtails and a small plec.
The day i put the kissers in, the gold gourami started bullying but this stopped the next day and everyone is living in harmony.
Water stats: amm 0, nitrite 0, nitrates about 20(it's a colour guide) ph 7.5-8(again,a colour guide.
The food drops right in front of them and they don't want to know.

Sorry, forgot to add...absolutely no sign of illness. No flicking, rubbing. healthy and happy but slightly thin looking!

Tank stats and tank size are good, so don't no they don't look pale do they.

Was they already looking thin when you got them.

not really pale looking. a nice pink.
they are grazing on the algae but not much.

So they are eating abit, it's a waiting game sometimes, i would just keep a close eye on them for now, good luck.

As for looking thin when i bought them, i can't honestly say i noticed. I'm sure they are probably not excessively thin,it's probably just me worrying cos they haven't eaten. Never had a fish that wouldn't eat.

They might me eating when the tank lights are out, is there any uneaten foods in the gravel.

I keep the gravel pretty clean, but i suppose there will always be some odd bits down there.
