Hi, I would like to know what would be a good compatibly with honey sunset gouramis. I have two gouramis in the 10 gallon tank, I originally wanted to keep the 10 gallon as a strictly north american native tank but I change it as mix use instead.
Would any Elassoma species be good with the honey sunset gouramis?
I also wanted a florida flagfish but then I read a shocking thing that their fin nippers and that make me nervous though hearing that.

Later on I ask my parent if I could get two used 30 gallon tank on a internet classify or local newspaper(and that cheap when looking around,so they don’t have to complain).

10 gallons is to small for one gourami... let alone 2
thats where our opinions differ...for a pair 5 gallons is ample as long as it is well filtered and is matured well, and also has a mass of plants

agreed.

you could probably keep a small group in a 10 gallon, dependent on filtration.
they like loads of plants and very slow moving water, almost still.
the Elassoma species are small, but need small live/frozen foods.when kept with other fish it can be difficult to get food to them.
but main factor would be that the gourami's like water at least 23 Celsius, anywhere upto 30 Celsius, where as the Elassoma sp. are sub tropical
preferring their water to be no more than around 20 Celsius.
both are nice fish but it would be one or the other im afraid.

I have an Topfin 10 power filter.
So I should just forget the pygmy sunfish and move to something else instead?
