The guys at the pet store said the piranhas would eat the gouramis....but they've been in the same tank for 5 months now.

3 piranhas...full grown.
2 gouramis....were bossing around our other fish....so we plopped 1 gouramis with th piranhas.....the gouramis went right upto the piranhas and started feeling them....checking thme out....and the piranhas just sat there.....scared of the gouramis!!!!

Anyone ever heard of this?????

This behavior will probably only last as long as they're both intrested in each other's identity,or until you overgrown tetras get hungry...either or.

I wasn't aware that pirahnas(spelling) can be fully grown after 5 months - same said for the gouramis. I'm assuming the temperment between the two types of fish will go away eventually, but good luck keeping them together.

What type of pirahnas do you have? RB's?
