Hey, I bought 2 Gourami a while back, and now they are around 4inches. They are in a 40 gallon community tank. It has a decent amount of binding spots, and it somewhat planted.
So recently they have been acting odd, super aggressive. Maybe it’s because of there size now? They don’t mind the Corey cat,nor the Otto or snails, but sometimes nip at my female betta. I have 3 in there tank (female betta) and I have relocated one to a hospital tank to treat her stress. I don’t nip at the other betta. I also had a pair of angel fish that they hated, also had to move to a different tank. What should I do? Move the betta to different tank?
All the levels in the tank are perfect, I use a master test kit and do 40% weekly water changes. If I do love the betta, would a small blood parrot work in the tank? Or should I just leave the Gourami’s solo? They fight with one another sometimes, but often I think it’s just playing, swimming around and chasing one another. The tank is at 79-80 degrees F. I feed them a pellet, and they are big eaters, I got them at near 1inch, and now they are at 4 in a few months. So what I’m wondering.... do I move my bettas? I’ve had them for years and don’t want them hurt, add a semi aggressive larger fish that can keep up with the gourami’s?
