Gourami

i posted this in the gouami forum but no one replied
so, i have three spot gourami which has a part of its dorsal fin missing, it was missing when i bought it about 5 months ago and isn't growing back, it isnt getting any worse either though.
any ideas as to why it isnt growing back ?

it may help to post up a picture if at all possible.....
some fish take longer than others,my oscar got beat up bad when i first got him hanging fins/skin nearly dead after 3days he was a pic of perfect health anyhow if you cant do a piccy try to exsplain a bit more of exsactly what it is or is it literally just a bit missing

i cant get a decent pic so i will try to explain
picture the dorsal fin of a three spot gourami and where the corner is imagin that someone cut a horizontal 1cm long, 0.5cm wide u-shape from the corner inwards.
there are no jagged adges and it is not frayed at all where the missing part it and it is not discoloured in any way either
