Gourami With Tiger Barbs....

I've had my established tank up and running for about 5 years now. A couple of months ago, ich cleaned out my tank of everything but a gold gourami. He has been the only one in the tank now for about 3 or 4 weeks. Yesterday I bought 4 tiger barbs for my tank. I was a little worried they would gang up on him, but he has been chasing them all around the tank. I moved the plants and stuff around to give the barbs more cover. They are trying to adventure out but my gourami still chases them around the tank.

The gourami is about a year old and when I added him to the tank he wasn't aggrisive towards my other fish. Does anyone have any ideas about what I should do or will he adjust to having tank mates again? I hate to have a 30 gallon tank and be only able to keep one fish. Thanks for any help.

In the 3-4 weeks he clamied the whole tank as his own, since you already re arranged the decor, you could remove him for a week, rearrange the decor again and then put him back, that may fix the agression issue.
