gourami with pink spots

two of my gouramis have pink spot like thing on there skin what is it what and how do i get rid of it please help any body

If they look like ulcers, be careful. It maybe fish TB. If you have any open soars on your hands/arms that reach in the tank, you can get it as well.

they sound like what my dwarf blue gourami has, and i think their ulcers. treat with melafix 4 7 days, do big water change on the 9th day. if they havent improved, treat with anti internal bacteria. this is number 9 in the medicine range. it costs abt £3.99 but well worth it.

the anti internal bacteria treatment goes in on day 1, and u dnt need to do another dose until day 4.

i hope this helps u. u mite also wana concider gettin either a small hospital tank if u can afford it, or a breeding net, so that the gourami with the pink spots can recover without the risk of being beaten up.

Carolinesugar, Did you have success with this medication?

I've read that fish TB is incurable and common in Gouramis. I think mine may have this as well. I've read symptoms are flakey/missing scales, ulcers and eventual deformities.

If your positive it's fish TB, then wear gloves if you have to stick your hands in the tank water. I would also isolate the fish to make sure it doesn't effect the others.

well my poor lil baby is still under going treatment, but shes had melafix, and shes had anti internal bacteria. she seemed 2 perk up, but the redish loking spots seem more like holes now. i dnt think she has tb, so she cud make it.

as far as i no, even if it is tb, if uve been vaxcinted against it (usually in the form of a BCG) then u sud be ok.

my advice is to do wot ive done, treat the tank with melafix, then if she still aint perked up, get a smallish hospital tank, stick the ill 1 in there, n treat the tank with anti internal bacteria. if all else fails, take the fish to the shop u brought it at, (like i plan to do) tell them what uve done 2 treat the illness. see wot they say/suggest.

as i have found, describing the spots to sum1 ova the fone/net is very difficult, and therefore taking the sick fish ova is better, as they can dingnose (i cnt spell, sorry) the illness better than ova the fone/net.

i hope it all works out, keep me updated as i wud love to hear hw things are going with him/her.
