I'm thinking of getting a blue and a gold gourami for my tank would they fight with each other or should I add more (ie 2 of each) to the tank?

165l
6neon tetra
3 guppies
1 German blue ram cichild
1 pleco

I wouldn't trust a blue/ gold/ 3 spot with guppies I'm afraid.
You'd need 2 female gouramis though as 2 males or 1 male and 1 female wouldn't work well.

What type of Pleco is yours?

It's a common one! Big mistake I know. So could you just keep one of each of them? I'm not sure I want a show fish or two but the choice is so complicated

They will need to be both female. If either of them are male you can expect trouble.

Could you keep 2 of each if they are both female? Just that I would like a pair of each that's all.

Yeah that will work. I'd still keep an eye on the gourami and guppies. If they're females it should be ok but gouramis can be unpredictable.

Ok great ill head to the local pet store and see if they having some in. Might get a frog 5/6 peppered corys and 6/8 zebra danios too

I think all those fish would be too much.

Your current sticking and the gouramis and the cories will fill it to the top.

Beware of young gourami (<2.5inch), for they may end up developing their male characteristics late. My LFS only has one female to about 12 males in their tank, though I'm not too sure why.

Im not trying to be one sided but have a look at pearl gourami's i have 3 females and 1 male and they are probably the most peaceful gourami

I would say that sparkling gourami were the most peaceful since they're the smallest. They don't school or shoal, but you could have more of them and worry less about bullying.

i'm dont know much about compatibility with guppies but i've had bad experiences with my gourami...i own a opaline gourami, which im pretty sure is the same thing as a blue gourami maybe just a color variation?  My opaline was orginally in a 20g a while back with a bunch of other fish....it ended up trying to eat my cardinals and killing my dalmation molly, which was about an half inch bigger than it!  so i moved it to the 30g with cherry barbs, next day i find cherry barbs with missing tails...  i rearranged all of the decor and made tons of "natural" barriers.  Since all of the other fish stick to basically the lower left area of the tank to avoid him....I moved my cardinals to the 30 and now for some reason he's not bothereing them....  I'd never put my gourami with a german blue ram, but idk it might vary from gourami to gourami, best thing to do is to just get whatever gourami you want to and if it doesn't work then return it asap..make sure to get females though, and thats another thing, mines a single female!  im probably going to try and get rid of her in a couple weeks...

Pearl Gouramis are def. A more peaceful option than Three Spot, Gold, Blue, Opaline, etc. Male Three Spots are terrors to Mollies in my experience. They didn't bother my guppies though..........I still woulnt risking putting one in with German Blue Rams.
