Hi Guys,

Tank at the moment:

3ft, 100 litres

Stocking:
1 x clown plec
5 x black neon tetras
7 x leopard danios

After looking in Maidenhead Aquatics @ Peterborough, the missus wants some gouramis. I'm not averse to it, but am a bit concerned with the stocking advice they've offered:

2 x honey gouramis
2 x dwarf pearl gouramis

Will these be ok together?

As a final addition to the tank, I will probably add a few small loaches, but at a later date.

Cheers,
Jee

I've no experience of keeping honey gourami's, not heard of dwarf pearl gourami's (are they a colour type of dwarf gouramis or something else?)

I do know it is advised to keep dwarf gouramis in trios (1 m, 2 f) as the males tend to be a little aggressive towards the females and this helps spread the aggression.

HTH

maybe someone else can help you a little more!

ditto regarding never heard of dwarf pearl gouramis. I think they are probably trying to sell you small pearl gouramis.
Even tho pearl gouramis are pretty peaceful I wouldn't mix them with honey dwarfs. There is just too much size difference and the honey dwarfs wouldn't stand a chance if the male pearl went primal on them. Very unlikely to happen but on rare occassions they have been known to get pushy.
Pearl gouramis will get along with your danios and tetras so if you want them then just get them and forget about the honeys.

You could try indian banded gouramis and honey dwarfs, or maybe Betta imbellis or something along those lines.
