Gourami Still Being Aggressive

I have to female opalines in a 5ft and they still fight. they are aggressive when they do. i would say split off the most aggressive to another tank for a day or two then reintroduce to see if it feels less territorial.

i have two gouramies in my 125L planted tank.
(i have other fish like tetras, rainbow etc`, but theyre irrelevant for now)

one male gold gourami and one female opaline.
the odd thing is, that the FEMALE one is chasing the male off her territory.
the female opaline is swimming nicely all around the aquarium, while the poor male fish
has to hide behind a plant all day long... when he dares to get out of his hiding place she
chases him back...

theyre both aprox 3 inch, was brought together about half a year ago.

(could the female one be a fish from the amazonas ? )
