today i went to the pet shop to buy a killie fish and 5 tiger barbs but forgot
tiger barbs could not be kept with fighter fish so i decided to get an albino cleaner
(pieceful cleaner)
when i bought them i got out of the shop i checked on my killie fish (as you do) and found
he had gave me a blue gourami.
can anyone tell me a bit about them.
i was going to take it back but i liked the colurs on him and also, how much are gouramis.
in my opinion they look well more expensive than killie fish.
the gourami and the albino cleaner came to £3.20.

can anyone tell me a bit about gouramis.
can you tell the difference between male and female etc

thanks

Thats a Blue Dawrf gourami not to be confused with a Blue gourami.
He is a male, most dawrf gouramis sold are males.
Depending on how big your tank is you might be able to keep him but it would just be safer for the betta if you took em back.

The killies and gourami could be ok together, I don't know much about killies.

Maybe you could set up a nice 1+ gallon tank for your betta?

The gourami is quite wide (betta might mistake it for fins vice versa another betta) and the bright colours too would probably force itself to act violontly towards the gourami. However, the dwarf gourami may not tolerate it and maybe act violently towards it in defence.

hi i may be sounding a bit dim asking this but what do you mean by an albino cleaner ??

I got my dwarf gourami. £1.95 each and my corys were £1.50 each. My betta and my dwarfs get on fine together. but I will state that it all depends on the betta., some are ok and some aint.. I took a pot shot with the most docile betta i could find knowing i could take it back at the fist sign of trouble and they are all fine.
