Gourami Has Pop Eye What Should I Do

Hi,

My Dwarf Gorumai has had Popeye for about a week it keeps getting worse then better then worse but never goes ,

My water readings are fine ph 7.8 no ammonia or nitrite , nitrate about 30ppm
i have a 13 gallon(Uk) tanks and 6 Danios with him

i change 15% water a week and keep up with all my Matanence

ive tried MellaFix as was told by my LFS it Would help but hasn't

if you can buy some medicine that will treat popeye, tetracycline tablets treat it good (i think thats how its spelt)

Pop eye is only a symptom of an internal bacterial infection and not a disease in itself. Pop eye usually appears after the disease is
far advanced and difficult to treat.
The survival rate of fish with pop eye is less than 10%, if the fish does survive the the eye may never look normal again.

Should i not buy anymore fish ?

I would refrain from buying any new fish until you have sorted out the bacterial problem.
