dudes if i have a small gourami will he eat the little fry guppys?

I have a feeling he will pick off some of the guppy fry but provided they have places to hide you should still have a few that will grow into adults. Fry tend to be fast little things even after they have just been born! I was watching my platy fry dart about the tank they seem alot quicker than my other fish
