I am new to tropical fish keeping and started my aquarium about four months ago. I had a pair of dwarf gourami and all was well until I lost my female (suspect injury during a water change) she appeard to recover and was not stressed but I found her dead one morning. After this the male began to pester my clown plec, this does not seem to bother him/her it just shrugs off the gourami. I replaced the dead female with a new one (who is much better at hiding than the first one) but the male still bothers the clown plec and seems to be trying to lie on it`s side on top of the plec. Is it tring to get my plec to spawn as the female gourami may be immature or is ther another reason ?
