Hi Guys

As the title says , we got a betta today.

Been after one for ages but had to wait until the endler fry were big enough to move to the big tank. He's in a 30ltr aqua one corner tank.

He seems to have settled in well, he's already had some blood worms and to my surprise a little bit of flake..

Anyway less of the babble and on to the pictures, sorry about the quality i took them with my mobile.

PS: Tanks not finished yet , I'm still searching for some nice rocks for the middle..

Cheers Guys

We havent named him yet still thinking about it lol

Im thinking about getting some Pygmy Cory's , do you recon they would be ok in there ??

Kev

first, love the guy. i was looking at one similar to him but  parents said no.
second, awesome tank. can't wait to see it when it's done.
third, the pygmys depend on the fish. i'd try it with shadow, but pacific would murder them. you may wanna try something a little cheaper at first, like ghost shrimp. if he doesn't like those, i wouldn't go with the pygmys. if he gets along with it, go ahead and get a few, but i wouldn't get fewer than three as mine love swimming in their little groups.

cories are fine with my girls and one of them is really fiesty they dont go anywhere near eachother. Ottos are good too. I dunno if you are planning on getting a large plant, but they really like big ones as they like sitting on the leaves. A cave or too would be good as well. Tanks looking good though, great pics from your mobile! They are better than the ones I look today on my digital camera!

looks a fantastic betta, i would add a few more plants (real or fake) and maybe another cave if other fish were added. pygmy cories would be best, but im sure a few albino or other cories would fit in instead? ottos are a lovely choice too, staying small and eating algea, they are great fish, they do need great water quality tho, have a look around for zebra ottos, like the name suggest, they are black and white, it might add a bit more color into your tank.shrimps would look good too, but depends on what your looking for, also your betta might eat them.i would leave the betta as the only "swimming" fish(corys and ottos are sucking fish) as your betta might take a dislike to them.if you want, a snail might be a welcomed choice, (im talking about golden apple snails and ivory snails, not those evil common snails that take over your tank.)it would enjoy the algea and wouldnt bother your betta, but not every one likes them
good luck

well we decided to name him Fred lol

he's settling in well , seems to be a greedy wee bugger lol , tried him on some tetra prima last night and he finished it all, i'm hoping this means he's not going to be a fussy eater lol.

fishboy619: Yeah I'm going to add more plants but need to sort out the lighting first as the way the light is set into the hood means its only the front half that gets light, I'm going to go for a T5 Power Compact and have the bulb running up the middle instead of along the middle, its an 11watt bulb that's in the now , makes it a little low for such a small tank..

got otto's in the big tank so might get some for this tank, zebra otto's sound nice, the last time i looked trimar had them , they also had pygmy corys so might put in an order :)

first of though, I'm on the look out for some nice rocks so i can make a focal point and at the same time maybe position them to make a cave.

Cheers for the comments guys

Kev
