got my new tank +2 JD's

Well i got my 55gallon all cycled and my breeding dempseys. They are the most boring fish in the world i swear Whats a few exciting fish that will do well in a 55g (without the JD's) im just curios. Oh yah the JD Male is 10" the Female is 6-7"

As for tank mates a convict might do the trick.

Tried the cons..At first the cons beat the dempseys up cuz cons had eggs then i guess Male Dempseys got pissed and battered the male con up pretty nicley. I gave my breeding cons to my friend. Ill post pictures ASAP

LOL MWM you got to remember my bert is an exception to the rule, that and I have had him for 2 years so he is usually pretty active when I walk by the tank that and he is a garbage can with teeth he eats anything and everything might try getting some fresh shrimp tails and rinsing the off good and feeding your JDs them
mine also love dried krill which really brings out the red in him!!!!!

I forgot to tell you too get yourself some ping pong balls drill about 3 or 4 holes in them and sink them in random places across the tank, what will happen is that the male will see them as an aressior in his terrirory and will push them across the tank cause they don't fit in his mouth.

Cool thanks for the info. I was thinking about it and they are getting better. I had them for under a week now and they arnt hidding everytime i got near the tank, im also going to make some more caves for them
