Got My Betta

Hi, i finally got my Betta today from my not so lfs, hes been in his tank for about 30 minutes now and just exploring his new home. I think i noticed a very small case of fin rot at the shop, so i bought some salt, its says pond on the package, but i sked the staff assistant and he says its ok for aquariums. Shall i put a tiny bit on or throw it away and get some proper aquarium salt from my lfs on monday?

I'll try and post pics later if my cam will work, if not it will have to be taken with my phone

Edit: Also, his tank looks quite bare, hes only got one silk plant in it. Is there anything else i could add to it? bare in mind its only a 2.5 gallon so theres not much floor space.

i think bettas can take the salt, and it should be fine, just have a look see how much you add to how many gallons..... if its a strong salt you may want to try some propper aquarium salt rather than risk poisoning your fish


and as for tank decor this is where my betta lives

Thanks I dont know if i want to risk using the salt, the shop i got it from looked a bit dingy, and the guy seemed like he only wanted to make money, my dad was there so he made me buy it And i'll see what my lfs has got for the decor.

Hes been in the tank for about a day now, and suddenly the waters gone kinda cloudy, the waters been in for about 2 days, and it is dechlorinated, is this normal or is there something wrong?
