Hello everyone :good:

I got this tank below:

It's 25 Litre (5.5 UK Gal, 6.6 US Gal)

I'm going to be using it to raise fry as i'm sick of the breeding net spoiling the look of my main tank!

What could I keep in this that wouldn't be interested at all in snacking on the fry!

Thanks guys :)

The only thing you could possibly keep in a tank that small are pygmy cory's to keep the bottom of the tank reasonably clean and not munch on the fry (depending on which fish you plan on putting in there?).

Neons really need a 10gal tank :S
My tank is also tall so that isn't good for neons :(

Betta wouldn't work at all as I will always have fry.

I had that idea too. Got me a little 7.5 gallon and transfered my guppy fry into it. In 8 weeks they were breeding amongst themselves

The lot went to the LFS and now I have Endlers and Pigmy Cory in it.

Well I got this tank from an ad in the local paper, It cost £49.99 new and I got it for £30. It had only been filled with water and no fish had ever been in the tank, So I thought I got a good deal.

BUT I think I know why they we're selling it... The filter is LOUD, A constant buzzing noise which is just not bareable, This tank is in my bedroom too, So I will definitely have to change the filter.. :( I tried moving it about and making sure it was together properly... No difference. It's one of those crappy sponge ones anyway.

What filter would you recommend for this tank, bearing in mind its only 25 litres Tall. I also need a heater too but I guess thats less important, I've seen 25 watt ones at my LFS, Shouldn't this be ok?

Sponge filters are normally your best option if you are keeping small fry. A 25W heater should be fine in a 25 litre tank.

Snails, they will with eating left over food too, otocinclus would be alright too as they eat algae, althought i find algae helps in fry tanks and it stimilates the growth of micro organisms that feed on it and they can then be eaten by your fry.
