New (to me) 6ft tank. Got it really cheap :)

So excited and cant wait to get it up and running!

Looks great :good:

edit: will have to be careful with that radiator behind it.

And that window next to it.

May be best to black off the side next to teh window.

Looks good though, I'm very jealous.

Thanks :)
Will be blacking out the door next to it and the radiator doesnt work anyway lol

Stupid me :(
Went to get sand this morning, grizzly baby in tow, got back and emptied the 2 big bags of sand straight into the tank while trying to sort baby out at the same time.
Now I have one cloudy tank, trying to clear it at the moment.
I have one hosepipe filling it up and one hosepipe emptying it straight out the back door.

As you have a massive sand cleaning bucket setup :) I would stir that sand good and proper...if it doesn't clear over a day then I would start moving the sand out and clean it half bucket full at a time instead...

I guess it does depend on the sand you bought, some is "cleaner" than others

Good luck with it all, it's certainly a nice size tank!

What you gonna put in it or is that for another topic

looks deep as well, what are the dimensions?

congratulations

Nothing better than a new big tank ready to decide on what to stock

whats the stocking plans?

I ended up stirring up the sand loads, waiting for it to settle and setting up 2 hosepipes to do a water change....
One for water in, one for water out :)

I Have moved all my filters and fish over from my 3ft and it still looks empty!

25-30 Malawis
2 Frontosas
3 Firemouths
1 Krib
2 convicts (Breeding Pair)
1 Plec
1 Black Ghost Knife
1 black/yellow thing
2 Jewels
2 silver sharks
4 neons

Those are all the fish I already have but I will be researching what can live with what (even though they all get on so well and have lived together for a month or so now) and selling some.

tank is 6ft x 2ft x 18"

Pics of how it looks about 3 minutes ago....

you had all those in a 3ft!!!

for a week yes, they are the reason I got a bigger tank... most of them came with it :)

Nice tank but i think you would be best to pick one lake or place you want the cichlids from because with a miz like that i think you could have alot of problems ones they all mature.
