ok this thursday i am going to maidenhead aquatics to buy my reserved pair of hongsloi's

i phoned today to reserve them, and they said they were 22 pounds for a pair, which i thought was good anyway, but the guy on the phone said that they are doing a special deal on dwarf cichlids and any pair is half price, so 11 quid for a pair is brilliant news :)

i am quite excite now lol

Excellent!! Lots of pics when they are home please :D Good price as well - wish my MA were so cheap and had such nice fish!

he did say on the phone that its a maidenhead aquatics deal and not just the winnersh one!
any pair of dwarf cichlids over 20 quid is half price, might be worth checking your local one mate

very good, i used to have a pair lovely little fish, di

any tips please di?
thanks dan

ermmm well, the prefer soft acid water, with tannins from wood and leaves, the are shy so strong lighting and water flow should be avoided. They make good tank mates from community tanks until they start breeding then the male who is usually smaller than the female will become territorial and may even harras the female so hiding places are good.

they prefer pairs as a pose to trios and will eat bloodworm, frozen and fresh foods, flake, vegetable matter like spirilena and algae wafers. A varied diet is required.

once eggs are laid the female will guard the eggs, and they hatch in 3 -5 days, the more alkaline your water the less the survival rate is.

any younsters that do survive must be posted to me
