What kind of fish are you looking for? There are many good breeders that sell their fish through AquaBid. Buy from them if you see something you want. If you are in doubt about a seller, why not ask about him/her here, or in the specific TFF forum for that species?
AquaBid is a good site. If you're not used to the auction format, don't hesitate to ask questions here.
Liveaquaria is the best. I've also used aquariumfish.net, but the packaging isn't that great. NEVER use azgardens. They're a scam. There's a few good SW fish sites as well, but I don't think that's what your looking for.
I've used www.petsolutions.com before, their african cichlids (mbuna) are excellent quality. Packaging was great, the fish really weren't stressed and settled in very quickly.
actually i am mostly looking for saltwater fish. i have looked at aquabid but i think they only sell freshwater. thanks, ill look at the websites you have already given me. if you have others you are welcome to say them
There's a lot of good books and websites on there for starting a marine tank.
For buying SW fish, there's liveaquaria, saltwaterfish, sealifeinc, marine depot live and etropicals
For equipment there is premium aquatics, dr foster and smith, marine depot, big als online, hellolights.
Live rock there's premium aquatics, sea life inc, liveaquaria.
1. you never know what your gonna get till you open the box.
2. you do not know how the fish are kept.
3. you do not know if there is any potential problem with the tank they where in what i mean is the old rules of never buy a fish from a tank with dead fish in it - and never buy a fish from a tank with sickly looking fish in them
sure prices on the websites are cheaper than in stores but it just seems real risky to me. all the handling going through the shipping process even if it is next day air shipping. there is no substatute for going into a LFS and picking out the exact fish you want IMO
