Good Betta Tankmates?

I've got my 64L set up and am gradually adding my planned stocking, yet I've decided that I don't want to put in cories any more as I don't feel my substrate is suitable enough for them (they should go somewhere more suited) and I also can't find pygmy cories anywhere!
My planned stocking currently is..
1x Male Betta
5/6x Platies/Swords (I have 2 grown platies and 3/4 babies siphoned from my biOrb, which is full of live bearers)
6x Endlers

What else could I put in there that would go in nicely?
I was thinking some sort of shoaling fish, but anything that would be compatible and is relatively colourful will do!

I was just wondering, could I put in a couple of shrimp or would the betta eat them?
