Gone Cloudy

My 4 year old has helped feed my fish by emptying half a tub of food in
I tried to get most of it out but now water has gone cloudy & 2 neons have died
This is my husbands tank & he's away What should I do?

Change 50% of the water with dechlorinated tap water and then let the filter do the rest.
