Michigan. ugh.
I do have a fantail goldfish in the same tank as my 7 angelfish and pool comet.

i have heard many people say not to put goldfish in with tropical fish.
but he has been in there a great while, and lives in perfect harmony with the rest of my fish.
he pretty much thinks he's an angelfish.

is there any other harm they can do being in there?
(besides make messes)

::dumb question, but oh well::

what temp are you keeping the tank at?

if things are fine for comaptibility and he doesn't get picked on then that's fine. however he might not be happy being kept too warm or the tropicals won't be happy cos they're too cold.

it's not the sort of problem that would show any massive issues immediately, they could live happily for months like this, however as and when something goes wrong with the tank (none of us are perfect, sooner or later your bound to get a disease or something like that) your gonna rapidly reduce the chances of your fish surviving. they're immune system will be permaenetly low due to being kept in the wrong conditions and as such they won't be able to fight off an infection, if one fish gets something really badly chances are the other fish will too.

IMO it's a bit of a timb bomb, might be fine now but it won't last.

Goldfish become very vulnerable to disease in a heated tank.

keeping any coldwater fish in tropical water will
1 ) speed up its' metabolisum, thus they create more watse especially ammonia
2 ) speed up its life cycle, thus sending it to an early grave.
3 ) lowers its immune system, thus giveing a greater chance of catching a disease etc

Goldfish in warmer water doesnt lower immune systems, in fact the reverse is true.
In japan most koi and goldfisha re bred in warmer water than what we keep them in.
The only problem I see is tank size.
Common goldfish NEED at least 50 gallons each when they get to 5 inches in length as they do indeed give off a heap of ammonia. Fancy goldfish NEED at a minimum 15 gallons each, so your tank is already overstocked by a long margin.
Also, 7 angelfish in a small tank is asking for trouble as well, as they grow and need their own territories. If you get even one pair then the others lives will be made a misery.
So, you should seperate the goldies from the rest of the fish. The goldfish I would give a 40 gallon tank, depending on size, and the angels need a deep tank and around 40 or 50 gallons just for them.

How are your tests for ammonia and nitrite?
Even if these are showing 0 then your tank is still a time bomb as bad bacteria doesnt take too much to get a hold. One missed water change may be all thats needed to give your fish diseases.

What temperature is the water and which filter are you using?

What is your regime for water changes and are you using a gravel vac?

Any plans to upgrade in the future?

i run my tank at about 74*
the person i got them from was running it way lower than that, in like a 40 gallon tank with about 30 angelfish, and some koi which she had for quite a few months.

my angelfish and goldfish are real small though.
the goldfish is MAYBE an inch at the most.
and my biggest angelfish is 2 inches tall, at the most as well.

and the tank i bought is super long.
they all stay in the corner anyway.

when i do have more money to put into my tank, it will be much larger and all that good stuff.
but i have ph & nitrate leveler stuff i put in which seems to keep them happy.

and im just getting into this.
so live and learn i guess!
