goldfish problems again

Are they red and inflamed pale, or glossy looking,, any sign of laboured breathing, sure they have got some food fast or gravel, as they do that sometimes.

gills arent red or inflamed nor glossy looking. they are breathing a bit faster than normal but i think its just from stress. do u know how long i will need to treat the pop eye.

Just follow the instructions of the med, if not alot of improvement carry on with the med.

The bacteria must be treated first by doing the water changes and meds. Go by what the maracyn says and treat for the recommended time.. then treat for the parasites if the fish is still scratching.

thanks for all the help. this morning when i turned on the lights, my shubunkin has taking a turn for the worst and was gasping for air and struggling to swim. the srasa was just sitting on the bottom not moving. it really doesnt look good. i dobt they will live more than a couple of days longer.

Sorry it seems they are going but you can only try.
Is the filtration turning over the water at a good rate? you should be aiming for at least 10 times in an hour.
All i can think of trying now is salt. Have you added any salt at all?
Add salt at 1 level teaspoon per gallon and again 12 hours later, aquarium, solar or kosher.
All you can do for the one with the sbd problem is starve him and hope he rights himself.

Had another read through and bottom sitting and flashing could be a sign of flukes so adding another level teaspoon of salt 12 hours after that could help there.
I agree with doing frequent water changes and adding extra air if you can and remember to calculate how much water you take out so you can add the correct amount of salt back.

Sorry, i no you can tell when you think they are not going to make it, good luck, fingers crossed as goldfish are very hardy and tough fish.

the filtration is just the standerd that comes with the ten gal kits. last night i realized it was starting to clog so i gave it good cleaning in old tank water after a partial. i havent added aqaurium salt yet. ill do it tonite when i get home(i have to go to work right after school so i might not get home till close to midnight)if they are still alive.

:-( i just wanted to say that when i got home my shubukin was dead and this morning the sarasa was dead. :byebye: . if idecide to get more how many can i get in a 29 gal? i plan to make it heavily planted with live plants and bog wood along with a filter made for up to 60 US gal.

Sorry at least you tryed to save them, R.I.P.,No more than 3, but personally i would only get two, good luck.

Really sorry you lost them but single tailed fish need heaps of room and arent ideal tank fish. I suggest fancy tailed fish for your 29 and i think 2 as well to see them through their lives in that sized tank.
Remember to cycle it before hand.
If you decide to use the 10 gallon, take all live plants out and add 3 teaspoons per gallon and leave it to run for a fortnight with filtration running then do loads of gravel vacs and water changes and this will kill any parasite that may be lingering.
Once again, really sorry.
