Goldfish In Cycling

Ok I have a gold fish that we have had for at least two years. If PH compatibility close would it be a wise move to use him and his water as a primer for my current tank?

I'm not totally sure what you mean. Do you mean you are considering moving your goldfish and water to a new tank to cycle it? If so that's not a good idea at all, but you could take a but of the mature media from the goldfish's tank and place it in the new filter and then do a fishless cycle. Using mature media will speed up the cycling a lot and what cause any distress to the fish.
