I know this is the tropical fish emergency section, but I came here because I need an answer ASAP.

I have a 29 gallon with one common goldfish who is about 5" long, one black moor about 2" long, and a fantail about 2.5" long.

They've all been living in the same tank for about 11 months. Just about a week and a half ago, their tank was moved, so it was drained completely and then completely refilled with clean, fresh water. I haven't done a water change since then. I was planning to do one tomorrow.

Anyways, my black moor and fantail look fine. But my common has a big red spot on one of his pectoral fins. It looks like blood or a scrape. There is nothing in the tank but gravel. He isn't scratching against anything so I don't think it's flukes.

EDIT: Now I just noticed there is a purplish-grayish-whitish filmy looking stuff on his head!! It isn't fluffy, but it looks like milk or something and purple when he swims up towards the light.

EDIT 2: Under his fin there is something white that may be hanging, it's really short and might just be a patch of skin because it's kind of transparent. He swims fast so I can't really see it. Should I stick my hands in the tank and hold him still to look?

He isn't lethargic or anything. He opens and closes his mouth a lot like hes gasping, but my goldfish have always done that. They also like to pick up the gravel in their mouths and spit it out too... does this mean anything?

Does anyone else know anything about this? Please help me.

P.S. I know the common will out grow his tank. When he gets a little bigger I might put him in my 55 gallon and move my cories and silver hatchets to the 29 gallon.

ok, a few questions that might help us to help you :)
you dont say if you have a filter and if that was also cleaned when you moved the tank, if so, how did you clean it?
you say fresh clean water was added, was it temperature matched and declorinated?
also can you tell us your water stats?
what is your normal maintenence routine?

Yeah I have a Top Fin 30 power filter. I use 1 part hot, 5 parts cold water for my goldfish. When I cleaned the tank, I drained it 100% via a siphon, wiped the glass down with a sponge, and rinsed the gravel quickly. The water was about 68F at the time but gradually warmed up to about 70F. The water is dechlorinated. I know there is 0 nitrite and 0 nitrate since the tank has only been up for about 1½ weeks.

I'm going to give him a salt bath now.

No, definitely not worms..

I do feel like the biggest idiot and part time fish torturer since I just tested 8ppm of ammonia.
