I keep 4 Golden Rams in a community tank and they seems very well, happy and healthy now for about 8 months since I bought them. One of my Rams display odd behaviour though. I'm not sure whether it's a male or female but it keeps sticking it's bum up the bubbles ! :*) :S Let me explain: Apart from the normal filter I also have a long blue aeration stick that makes loads of bubbles. And this one particular fish just seems to "sit" there quite often with it's backside up the bubbles ! Any vague idea why ? The fish seems very healthy and happy otherwise and in-between resting on the bubbles it swims and eats quite happily. I'm just curious if anyone has any idea why or have witnessed similar behaviour by their fish.

OK, well it's obviously just something he enjoyes doing, but I snapped a pic of him today *erm* enjoying himself !

Maybe he/she has an itch

I think the ram is taking advantage of the bubbles and using them as a massage, who wouldn't? :p
