Golden Oldies!

Oldest Fish
A female European eel (Anguilla anguilla) named Putte, was reported to be 88 years old when she died at Hälsingborg Museum, Sweden, in 1948.

Directly from the Guiness book of world records site.

And to not get everyone angry, my oldest fish was a betta who lived for 6 years, but when we bought him, we were told he would only live for 6 months :rip: Bluey

Why would we be angry? I'm glad somebody else besides me has (had) a long lived betta, most people say that they only live 2-3 years but I disagree with that. Maybe if your only feeding them pellets and they're living in not-so-clean water then they'd only live that long. My guy who is 3-4 years old is very active and still going strong, its just his fins aren't in the greatest shape (no fin rot or anything, they're just messed up).

Currently Hannibal, your average red VT betta, I've had him for about a year but as they're fairly old when you buy them, I'd guess 1 1/2 years old.

Well I have a five year old silver tip, and a 3 year old leopard danio.

And i am as proud as punch.

Ive got a koi out back whos great great great aunt twice removed swam with the dinosaurs, So that puts her at about 306.

She must have had a sex change: Putte is a male name in Swedish. And then to live to the age of 88- and impressive old lady! Or old boy.

Saz common plecos can live up to 20 years or more!!! :D The oldest fish I have are 3 black tetras that were at least a year old when bought but I've had them for about 3 years so they are 4 years old and the second oldest fish I have my common pleco that is at least a year old when bought (he was 3" to 4" long when bought so anyone who knows how old it would have been speak up) and I've had him for about 2 years.
