Well not a good start to the day. My Golden Nugget was dead at the bottom of my tank. He was acting strange last night and I noticed some shades of white powder on him. Dosed the tanks with meds but unfortunately it wasn't enough to save him. Anyone any ideas what this white stuff may have been?? RIP.

Been up and running for over a year now without any major problems. The rest of the fish are all ok and water test is : Ammonia 0, nitrites 0, Nitrates 15.

Sorry to hear of your loss.

I have lost a Bristle Nose to the same thing.
Didn't look quite right, and had that white powder on him. I dosed with meds (eSha 2000 as recommended by my LFS) but it didn't respond and died.
Must be some sort of fungus that Plecs are suseptable to.

Nothing new in the last month.

did it look emaciated
look like it had a hollow
belly

No his belly was normal and had been eating ok.

Thanks Squid.Have checked my BN too and he seems ok(touch wood). It's just a bit gutting as he was quite a character.
