Golden Apple Snails

will golden apple snails eat my plants? ???? ???? ????

no, they only eat dead or weak fish, rotting food and plant matter, they dont touch healthy plants but they do produce large amounts of waste so not too many is recommended in one tank

I would say yes. my friend has a bunch of snails in a ten gallon holder tank right now until he gets the bigger tank set up. He told me that when he goes to move around the substrate in the tank for this matter or that, that a giant cloud of feces rises into the water like a tornado. the only other things hes got in there are a few ADF's and a betta. and this didnt start happening until he got the snails.

Depends on the bread of apple Snail,
Some will happily chomp on healthy plants,

sorry Don't have time to find out what breed it is tho..
10 min of google search will show you what one tho.

Nope, they won't eat plants. They do poo... a lot. I'd definitely only recommend them for tanks 20 gallons or larger. I had one in a 1g stupidly... he ate all the algae, but there was so much poo everywhere. @_@

i have a 75g tank so i was wondering on keeping maybe 3. are they worth it though as eating algae is useful wont there poo be worse for the tank

3 snails in a 75gal tank isn't going to make that much of a difference, just make sure you clean your gravel every water change (which you should be doing anyways).

Ditto what dthoffsett said. :) 3 in a 75 gallon is fine. Shouldn't do much to the water if you clean it regularly.
