I know they are too large to be considered dwarfs. This is where it gets confusing though. The Blue Acara has the similar
size but these guys sure don't live up to the Blue's reputation. Although very interested and concerned parents, they
lacked the vigor I expected in defending. Convicts have hit my hand when in the tank near their fry or eggs. I took the
eggs from thesee guys, right or wrong, and placed them in a small hatching tank I use for Cory's (with a few Cory Eggs
presently) Now I'm the Mom and have had to remove two fungus eggs. By the time I rescued there are only about 30
eggs on this stone. The tank they spawned in: 45 gallon high, containing 5 Golden Acara, 3 Bala Shark, 3 Neon Barbs,
One Lemon Tetra, 2 Plecs, 1 YoYo Loach, 2 Bronze Corys, 2 Zebra Dianos, 7 angels. All fish have grown very well
and the youngest would be about 9 months old, which happen to be these acara and plecs (11 inches each). They get
good food, solid filtration but not the routine water changes, in fact there has not been one change since I set it up Last
November. I do have a Rainbow service cart; (mech, chem and UV) that I put on at times. Will be out of town for nexxt
couple of days, but will post the luck I have with this spawning.

Still an internet Rookie; now idea how to
get pictures from camera to computer let alone to this post. Sorry
