Gold Spotted Snakhead?

My friend recently bought a snakehead from maidenhead aquatics near windsor and they described it as a gold spotted snakehead we cannot find anything online about them atall does anyone have and info?? Ill post a pic for you later thanks. Spence

Channa Aurantimaculata are often sold as "Golden spotted".

They are strictly sub tropical (mine thrived in 19c for most of the year 22c for 1 month in summer) if kept in tropical temps Aurantis are notorious for getting "erosion disease". It isn't nice.

They grow to adult size of 16", but can often grow larger.
They are MOST DEFINITELY not for mixing with other fish. Even keeping 2 Auranti together is often tricky.

Yes mate providing you care for these guys correctly you channa will shows true colours, the colour of yours at present is stress related, Prob due to new surroundings, As said add plants etc and it should feel more at home,
There are a few channa which a mid water swimmers, but most enjoy good cover
