Hey

I was wondering if someone could help me out?
I would love to buy a Gold Severum and put in my tank but I am wondering whether my 4ft 55gal tank would be big enough for this particular fish. I have been doing some reseach over the net and it seems like a 55gal tank should be ok.

The fish I have got already in the tank are:
5 Gouramis
clown loach
bristlenose catfish
red and blue columbian
2 Angels

Nope I'm afraid not, not with your current stocking. One in a 55g on it's own might be ok, maybe the plec too, but with the angels and other fish you're already nearly fully stocked. Severums can get to 12" (although 8-10" is more usual), so by rule of thumb they need a 4ft x 18" x 18" tank minimum, which is 75g - but most sites say 55g as bare min for one fish as obviously 12" isn't that common. So unless you were planning on rehoming all your other fish bar the plec, your tank isn't going to be big enough I'm afraid.
