Hello,

Ive got two Gold rams, both around the same size. But one has got a slight red shine on the side and underside of it, also its slightly more bloated than the other ram. Could this mean that this ram is female? and carring eggs?

Another problem is both rams seem to be fighting alot, i work around fish alot at my part time job and have never seen them behave in this manner. They get side by side and head butt each other, they also "bite" each others fins and eyes, this happens for around 10-15 mins at any one time. I have only witnessed this three times, (but im sure it happens when im at work and at college) and am unsure whether this is some form of courtship? or just a meer fight?

Im not quite sure what to do?
any advice would be very much appriciated,

Cheers,
Luke

female rams get pink bellies when in breeding condition.
the fighting is often associated with pr bonding in cichlids. They test each other out to see if the other fish is strong enough to be their partner.
