I noticed yesterday afternoon my gold ram was covered in whitespot. I added 6 peppered corys to the tank over the weekend from the LFS (i tried not putting in the water from the bag but couldnt get the critters out with a net, so i added tank water, took some out, added more, took some out etc, before releasing them into the tank)
I didnt want to medicate the whole tank as i have amano/algae/cherry shrimp in the tank, so i put the ram in my 20L hospital tank and treated with Interpret Anti White Spot Plus.
Was this a good path to go down? No one else in the tank has whitespot and the ram didnt have any signs the day before so it only just happened. Would there still be ich parasites in the tank i took her out of, as i would prefer not to treat the tank if possible, would lots of water changes help?
The ram is pretty happy in her hospital tank. eating well, swimming well, just seems a bit bored all alone!
Thanks for your help.
(Ps if u want the tank stats:
Amonnia 0
Nitrite 0
Ph 8.0
Nitrate 50-75 (my tap water is also 50, so cant seem to get it any lower, despite adding Tetra Nitrate Minus)
