I noticed yesterday afternoon my gold ram was covered in whitespot. I added 6 peppered corys to the tank over the weekend from the LFS (i tried not putting in the water from the bag but couldnt get the critters out with a net, so i added tank water, took some out, added more, took some out etc, before releasing them into the tank)

I didnt want to medicate the whole tank as i have amano/algae/cherry shrimp in the tank, so i put the ram in my 20L hospital tank and treated with Interpret Anti White Spot Plus.

Was this a good path to go down? No one else in the tank has whitespot and the ram didnt have any signs the day before so it only just happened. Would there still be ich parasites in the tank i took her out of, as i would prefer not to treat the tank if possible, would lots of water changes help?

The ram is pretty happy in her hospital tank. eating well, swimming well, just seems a bit bored all alone!

Thanks for your help.

(Ps if u want the tank stats:
Amonnia 0
Nitrite 0
Ph 8.0
Nitrate 50-75 (my tap water is also 50, so cant seem to get it any lower, despite adding Tetra Nitrate Minus)

Ok, the hospital tank was only setup yesterday and was cleaned from its prior use (dont worry the filter media is always in the tanks filter to mature when not in use) So she is isolated. I didnt want to move my shrimp into my other tank as i have a rather big angel fish that eats anything small in sight!

Is there anything i can do to the tank that wont kill my shrimp or harm the catfish?

I would ask in tropical disucssion I think there are whitespot meds that you can use with inverts.
The other option is to go out and buy a cheap plastic tanks for the inverts.
With catfish you usually have to half dose.

Ok thanks.

Just got home and now my ram has a swimbladder problem! She seems to be going through the wars at the moment. I assume i cannot mix whitespot treatment with swimbladder treatment?

Any suggestions how i can keep her alive?

No sorry you can't mix meds.
The only whitespot med that I know of is esha you can use there bacterial with there brand of whitespot med.
Cook some frozen peas for a few minutes, let cool down, pop out of shell and mush into small peices and add to the tank.
If the fish is struggling to maintain its balance put him in a container at the top of the tank,
