So, about a week ago I walk into my lfs and spot a gold nugget pleco. Wanting one for quite some time and never being able to find one, of course I'm intersted in buying it. I watch it for a while to see how it acts, ask the worker to drop in an alge wafer to see if it eats and it does, so I buy it. Get it home and it hasn't eaten a thing since it's been in the tank. So I check the levels of the water, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and PH. Everything is fine there. Temp is fine. All my other catfish are acting and eating normal. I've tried alge wafers, tetramin tropical tablets (all my other catfish love these things), bloodworms, even a cucumber....nothing. I'm puzzled. I have no idea why it's not eating, but it's seems to be fading fast. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

a weeks too short for it to fade unless it was already starved at the shop. plecs often are and a good tip is to check the belly and the eyes. when dying the eyes sink into the head and the belly sinks in

get some garlic and rub it all over some courgetter and put it in with the plec and hope that gets it to eat. I;d also try some frozen brine with garlic or something just to see if you can get it to eat but in my experience once they go this way they rarely come round

RIP little buddy! :-( As a last ditch effort I found and tried some Garlic Gaurd, apparently it was just too late. :-(
