comfortably numb
im about to order 1 from trimar have just read that they are hard to acclimatise. any advice welcomed please also the tank it will be going in contains new world cichlids and another plec. is this wise?
There is a long dicusssion on acclimatising in the sci part of the forum, follow the link in my sig if it helps to give you a better idea.
L18 are less agressive and amaller, thus they are a better option IMO. All Gold Nugets have been known to latch onto larger fish for the slime coat
I don't know what L177 is like teperament wise...
Float for about 20 mins and set up an airline with a gang valve in a bucket, letting through 2-5 drips per second. After the floating, allow the airline to fill the bag the plec is shipped in (It should be pegged to the outside of the bucket after opening to hold it open and upright) and then let it loose into the bucket. Then allow the bucket to fill, and transfer across to the new tank
