I've read that Gold Gourami's get to be up to 6". Doe's anyone one know what the average length of this type of fish? I'm assuming that not too many get that big. Right now mine are around 3 1/2 ". I purchased 2 for my 30 gallon. Is a 30 gallon large enough?

Thanks

While most of the tricogaster gouramis can reach 6inches, 5-4inches is more realistic.

What else is in your 30gal, that would help detrimen of they can live in there.

Right now I have 2 German Blue Rams, 5 - Harlequin Rosbaras, 2 - Lemon Tetras, 2 - Tiger Barbs (I use to have 7) and 3 danios. I would like to add some more fish, but I think I might be pushing it. Would you add any more?

Thanks

I would probably just increse the tetra danio and tiger barb number since these are schooling fishes, and since tiger barbs are known for nipping long fins like those on gouramis, but with a higer number of tigers the agression should just be between themselves.

Thanks for the reply. I originally had 7 Tigers, but 5 of them died. I originally wanted more than 7 because they are a schooling fish. I'd like to get another 5 or so. The 2 Tigers I have don't seem to be bothering the Gouramis so far, but they're still young. Do you think I would be overstocked if I add another 5 Tiger Barbs? They're fun to watch. :D
