Gold Barb Help Needed!

i noticed one of my gold barbs had a sort of fungus around his mouth. also, the corners of his jaw sem to be protruding . elso yesterday i noticed the same fish had two open woulds near his tail. I've moved him to a little empty tank and added some protazin.

A) what is his problem?

B)how long should i leave him in the hospital tank for?

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Do a 30% water change and run some black carbon to remove the parasite med.

The fish has mouth fungus which is columnaris and it's bacterial. Has the fish bumped her mouth on anything in the tank.
Does the mouth look like it's rotting away.
Myxazin by waterlife and pimafix.

Its rare to have a nitrate reading of 0. What your tap nitrate reading and do you have live plants.
How long has the tank been set up.

Once the mouth starts to rot best of putting the fish out of its misery.

For a 4 gal tank all you can keep its a betta. There not many fish that can go in a 4 gal.

no, the hospital tank is 20L. he should only be there temporarily. last time i tested the water in the tank he came from, the colour of the water test was closest to the zero on the coulour chart.

how do i put him out of his misery i've never done it before.....

Get a jug of very cold water and add ice cubes till the water freezing cold. If no ice cubes put the jug in the freezer till a thin sheet of ice forms on top of the water.
Put the fish in the jug of ice water, it shouldn't take long for the fish to pass on. Leave the fish awhile just to make sure its passed away.
Check gills are not moving.

Once the mouth rots away the fish is to far gone to save.
