So im planning on upgrading my tank. Il still run my Edge but the Rio will be my main tank.

Going for the Rio 240 as there is a current offer that includes the stand for free. Seapets seem to be the best priced too as they offer free delivery. Something the lfs can't and i can't fit the tank in the back of my Scirocco.

Im thinking once i get it i will transfer the media from the Fluval Edge into the Rio along with all the fish. Would this be ok? The stats of the water have been steady now for the last 3 months with the stocking level i have (Ammonia and Nitrite at 0, nitrates at 20ish and PH at 7.0).

I plan on running it like that for a while, slowly increasing the stock levels then eventually once the bacteria has built up in the Juwel filter, i will put the media from the Edge back in there with a few small fish.

How does this plan sound?

Also is the Rio 240 a good tank? I can't seem to find any poor reviews.

Also im looking at getting the Juwel 3d background and terraced sections, are they easy to put in the tank?

We have got the Marina Styrene backgrounds (wanted the Juwel ones but they were far too expensive). It was just a matter of cut to fit and silicone it in. They look brilliant, even better now they have a bit of algae on them. Plus the Hillstream loaches love hiding in the indentations of the rock affect.

Oh and for the terrace sections, we used old slate from a roof. Get your angle grinder and cut it to size, scrub it, boil it (silicone it together if needed) then in the tank it goes. Although I admit the Juwel ones do look good, they again were quite expensive.

Get your angle grinder

My what lol, i would end up taking my arm off

Thank you for the reply though, glad its just a case of siliconing them in

Oh do you have any pictures of what you have done with yours?

Thanks :good:
